Sloe Mittens - Simple Crochet Mittens Pattern
The trick to great crochet mittens is getting the stitch for the hands right. It needs to be warm enough, so that your fingers aren’t sticking out through the natural holes in crochet but stretchy enough to allow for movement. These Mittens are made from linked trebles, creating a solid fabric for the coldest days.

17 sts and 10 rows in linked treble crochet (see special stitches) to 10 cm/4 in using 4.5 mm hook (or size needed to achieve tension)
Basic crochet stitches, working in rounds, raised (post) stitches, decreasing, increasing.
The mittens start at the top, with a chain where linked stitches are worked into both sides to create an oval shape, with increases worked at each side. The seam on these mittens contain an increase and decrease to minimise the unslightly travelling join that can happen with this stitch.
