Sometimes all you really need is a simple stitch and beautiful yarn to create stunning accessories. This hat and mitten set use simple striping to create a stunning ombre effect.

1x 50g skein Coop Knits Socks Yeah (4ply, 75% Fine Superwash Merino Wool, 25% Nylon, 212m/231yds/50g) in Axinite (103) - Col A
1x 50g skein Coop Knits Socks Yeah (4ply, 75% Fine Superwash Merino Wool, 25% Nylon, 212m/231yds/50g in Kunzite (106) – Col B
4mm (US G) hook
3.5mm (US E) hook
1 removable stitch marker
16 sts and 32 rows in granite stitch to 10 cm/4 in using 3mm hook (or size needed to achieve tension)
Basic crochet stitches, working in rounds, working in rows, missing stitches, working into chain spaces, increasing.
Hat is worked from the crown down in rounds in a spiral with no turning or joining of the rounds. The brim is then worked in rows around the bottom circumference of the hat.
