Aberfoyle Cardigan

Inspiration comes from all kinds of places.  Sometimes its the world around you, the yarn you are working with, a piece of clothing you know and love, but sometimes it is simply the need to create a design to meet a certain set of parameters.  In the case of Three From the Top, we set out to make cardigans in 3 different top down shapes: Raglan, Yoke and Set-In Sleeves.

Aberfoyle is the yoked cardigan design.  Yoked cardigans work best when they have detail that follows the line of the yoke.  In this case, the drapey half treble ribbing that make up the body are offset by the contrast colour eyelet details.  The shape of this cardigan works with most body shapes and ages.  There is a reason that yoked cardigans have been so popular across the world in knitting and crochet history!!

Aberfoyle cardigan is a classic, simple, top-down, circular yoke cardigan. It features a pretty eyelet detail in the contrast stripes at yoke, hem and cuff. Crab stitch edging gives an easy professional finish.

Aberfoyle forms part of the Three From The Top collection of cardigans. Whether you are new to crocheting garments and looking for easy, well explained patterns or an experienced crocheter looking for stylish, wearable patterns this is the book for you. Each design has a timeless quality to it and is sure to be loved and worn for many years. With detailed notes on everything from choosing the right size and making simple fit adjustments to professional finishing and care advice; you will learn more than just how to make the three cardigans projects.
